DJMN: National Australia Bank Hits Out At Liquidity Doubts - Report
SYDNEY (Dow Jones)--National Australia Bank has blamed uncertainty in financial markets, caused by the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority's proposed liquidity changes, for its decision to pull a bond issue last week, the Australian Financial Review newspaper reported Wednesday.
The newspaper said a deal to sell longer-dated bonds failed to gain market support due to ambiguity over whether the bonds would meet APRA's liquid asset requirements.
The newspaper quoted a spokesman for the bank, who said the bank didn't launch a bond offer due to uncertainty surrounding the new liquidity proposals.
