DJMN: Skype Litigation Could Be Resolved Soon - NYT
DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

A resolution of the litigation surrounding the Internet phone service Skype could be announced as early as this week, The New York Times reported Tuesday, citing people been briefed on the situation.
In an interview with CNBC Tuesday, eBay Inc. (EBAY) Chief Executive John Donohoe said he is "confident" the Skype deal will close this month. Ebay agreed to sell Skype to a consortium of private equity investors in September.
The New York Times reported that the proposed settlement is between the consortium and the founders of Skype, who have filed several lawsuits in an effort to stop the $1.9 billion deal.
The deal would restructure the group buying Skype. Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, who created Skype and sold it to eBay in 2005, will take a significant stake. Index Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm whose partner, Michelangelo Volpi, was at the center of the litigation surrounding the sale, is most likely withdrawing from the deal.
